ARM-7 BASED SEMI AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE

ABSTRACT:

In every day there are millions of vehicles are passing on the roads due to urbanization. Transportation Department plays an important role in the features like Time, safety and efficiency but due to the lack of awareness Accidents occurs as usual and the consecutive things will be delayed then it gives the lose of the life also. Here the proposed paper describes the process for avoiding the above mentioned issues. It is ARM7 based system the core hardware has modules such as RFID READER, GPS, GSM wireless transmission will try to compensate the new transport related issues. Applications such as accident alert, traffic rule violation control and special zone are explained in this paper. An efficient utilization of communication link between RF Modems over a wireless channel to provides the information regarding vehicle monitoring, vehicle authentication. The implemented system is a more convenient to automatically sending information to above such applications.

PURPOSE:

These systems consist of GPS, GSM module, vehicle information RFID Tag and ARM7 embedded module. Here we have used SIM 300 GSM module to transmit alert data to the mobile receivers already configured. GPS, GSM and RF-ID are connected to transmit KIT of the serial port in embedded module. The total controller program is developed in embedded C language and is downloaded into the memory for operation.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The radio frequency identification technology and the Global Mobile Communication Network are combined to propose an automatic wireless guarding system which reduces the rate of theft of vehicles. The system could identify the vehicle owner quickly and then realized the function of keyless entry and keyless start-up by using micro controller which is interfaced with RFID and GSM module. These interfaced modules along with vibration sensors, helps in monitoring function for the vehicles. GSM module already predefined for controlling the vehicle’s states remotely, using the micro controller instructions, sets and dismisses the prevention of messages or calls. Comparing with the traditional system, this system extends the level of reliability and security along with better owner identification. Hence using these two modules unity can be achieved between safeguard and remote control system.

This project consists of wireless communication for communication with the accident sense system and the Pre-set of treatment centre. The main part is the Pre-set of treatment unit, which acts as an Information processing unit. Individual vehicle is equipped with a system called as accident sense system, which consists of GSM and GPS. When the accident occurred, Vehicles state and locations will be transmitted to the Pre-set of treatment centre though wireless communication technologies of GSM through short message format.

Technology:

GPS:

GPS (Global Positioning System) technology is used to find the location of any object or vehicle to monitor a child continuously using satellite signals. Three satellite signals are necessary to locate the receiver in 3D space and fourth satellite is used for time accuracy.GPS will give the information of parameters like longitude, latitude and attitude. With the help of these parameters one can easily locate the position of any object. In this GPS technology, the communication takes place between GPS transceiver and GPS satellite.

GSM:

GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) is the technology that underpins most of the world’s mobile phone networks. The GSM platform is a hugely successful wireless technology and an unprecedented story of global achievement and cooperation. GSM has become the world’s fastest growing communications technology of all time and the leading global mobile standard, spanning 218 countries. GSM is an open, digital cellular technology used for transmitting mobile voice and data services. GSM operates in the 900MHz and 1.8GHz bands GSM supports data transfer speeds of up to 9.6 kbps, allowing the transmission of basic data services such as SMS.

RFID :

RFID is an acronym for Radio Frequency Identification. In general terms, RFID is a means of identifying a person or object using a radio frequency transmission. In other words RFID is an electronic method of exchanging data over radio frequency waves. The technology can be used to identify, track, sort or detect a wide variety of objects.

There are three major components of an RFID system: the reader, the antenna, and the tags. Each tag is associated with a unique number. When a tag is in the detection range of the reader, the number is read. Two types of tags can be found: active tags with a longer detection range and passive tags with a shorter detection range. An RFID tag is usually attached to an object and the information of the object along with the RFID number are recorded in the database. Whenever the RFID tag is sensed, the object can thus be identified.

RESULT:

This paper mainly reviewed the research and development Work for traffic and transport related problems such as accident alert, traffic signal control, traffic rules violation control, and special zone alert using the latest GPS, GSM, RFID technology. In this project we have designed a system to give complete solution. It is proposed as a low cost optimized solution using RFID and GSM mobile technology. But in India we have not implemented any automated system for transport management due to prohibitive cost. Keeping this in mind we have proposed this system at low cost.
